Kauffman Scholar Summer Residential Institute

Overview

The Kauffman Scholars Program is a summer institute aimed toward low-income, urban students from the Kansas City area. During the summer, scholars stay in residential halls and engage in a number of academic and recreational activities throughout the day. Each scholar is mentored by both an academic coach and a life skills coach. Scholars are divided into classes with 200-300 students each.

Purpose

To expose the students to campus life and academic disciplines, with the ultimate goal of encouraging them to pursue higher levels of education.
