Ag Experience Day
Ag Experience Days offer a unique perspective into the College of Ag
Are you interested in more than just a campus tour? Schedule your very own Ag Experience Day where you can shadow one of our ag ambassadors, attend classes, tour the facilities and take an in-depth look at the College of Agriculture. We do need at least a three-week advance notice to make sure your ambassador is the best match for you.
Powercat Preview offers a broad look at the K-State experience, with academic and general sessions for sophomores, juniors and seniors who haven’t yet been admitted. Take advantage of the opportunity to visit the Manhattan campus and experience K-State firsthand.
Get a comprehensive look at K-State—from connecting with our agriculture faculty and touring residence halls to exploring resources like the Honors Program and learning about admissions and financial aid.
Join us Friday, September 26, for a special event just for high school students interested in agriculture, food and natural resources. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., you'll explore K-State’s programs, meet faculty and students, and get a feel for campus life.
Then, finish your visit on Saturday, September 27, to cheer on the Wildcats as they take on the UCF Knights during our Celebrate Ag Day football game. Students who register for Friday’s event can receive up to three free tickets to the game!
2025 Camps: Camp 1 - June 2-4 | Camp 2 - June 9-11
This three-day, intense judging camp is designed for 4-H and FFA members (ages 14-18) who are seriously interested in enhancing their livestock judging and oral communication skills. Prior livestock judging experience is necessary for this camp. Judging workouts will be conducted similarly to those at a collegiate level.
Students from across the country with an interest in the livestock industry and related careers are encouraged to apply for the Kansas State University Animal Sciences Leadership Academy. The academy is an intensive four-day educational experience designed to enhance leadership skills and animal science knowledge of students in grades 9-12.
Hosted by the K-State Department of Animal Sciences and Industry and sponsored by the Livestock and Meat Industry Council Inc. (LMIC), the academy’s goal is to develop young leaders within the livestock industry and prepare them for a successful future in this field.
Get ready to gain experience growing, harvesting and milling grains into ingredients used to produce baked goods, animal and pet food. Industry partners will share job opportunities, career paths and income potential alongside K-State faculty and students. You’ll tour K-State’s feed and flour mills, bake labs and agronomy research farms, network with peers, and gain an appreciation for food and feed production. Camp participants must be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of high school for the 2025-26 school year.
The Smart Farm Challenge is designed for upcoming high school seniors and current college students to explore agriculture technologies like drones, soil sensors, and variable rate application equipment. You will meet with experts in the field, learn new skills such as flying drones or collecting field data, mapping variability, and discover ways to make farming easier and more efficient. Whether you are just starting or want to learn more, this workshop is for you!

Vet Med ROCKS is an immersive opportunity for students to experience veterinary medicine in a fun, hands-on and educational environment with current DVM students, veterinary faculty and staff. We offer interactive activities, expert-led workshops and career insights for participants interested in becoming veterinarians. Join us for a full day of labs and interact with our teaching animals at the K-State College of Veterinary Medicine.
Transfer Visit Days are designed for students considering a move to K-State from a community college, technical college, or another university. You’ll learn about transfer requirements, meet with academic advisors, explore your program of interest, and connect with current transfer students.
