Why did you choose K-State, the College of Agriculture and your major?
I grew up in western Kansas in a home that bled purple. Manhattan always felt like home. Choosing the College of Ag was like a no-brainer for me; it’s where the best of the best are, and I wanted to be a part of that legacy. With a low student-to-faculty ratio, I was encouraged by the idea of having the opportunity to form close relationships with my professors and mentors.
As a high school student, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in college, but I knew I wanted to stay rooted in agriculture. Ag econ was the perfect blend of everything I loved, while offering the versatility to grow, explore and find my unique path.
What organizations were you involved in, and what impact did they have on you?
I was involved in Student Governing Association, Ag Ambassadors, Student Alumni Board, Blue Key Honor Society and Greek life. These organizations helped me expand my network, grow as a leader and connect with incredible mentors and friends.
They gave me a platform to serve the campus that provided me a fruitful four years.
What accomplishment are you most proud of during your time at K-State?
I’m most proud of the connections I made and the people who became part of my K-State story. Between my friends in Greek life, my incredibly talented classmates or the inspiring student leaders I worked alongside, every relationship made my experience unforgettable. I hope that I was able to contribute to their stories as much as they did to mine.
What would you tell students who are interested in K-State or your major?
K-State will invest in you, and you’ll quickly feel like part of the family. The culture is friendly, student life is thriving and the academics are outstanding. You might not know what you want to do right now, but K-State will help you find your passion and you’ll never regret choosing Manhattan as your home.
What does being recognized as an Outstanding Senior mean to you?
Being recognized as an Outstanding Senior is truly an honor. To be named alongside such talented and driven peers means the world to me. This reflects not just my own work, but my mentors, friends, family and the community that supported and challenged me throughout my time at K-State.
