Dan Moser, Eldon Gideon Dean of the College of Agriculture

Dan Moser’s career spans teaching, research, and industry leadership, shaped

by experience across

institutions and organizations that define modern agriculture.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in animal sciences from Kansas State University and his master’s and doctorate in beef cattle genetics from the University of Georgia. He spent 17 years as a faculty member at the University of Georgia, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and K-State, teaching animal breeding and genetics, advising students, and leading applied research focused on livestock performance and decision-making.

Moser later served as president of Angus Genetics Inc. and director of performance programs for the American Angus Association, where he led advancements in genetic evaluation and genomic testing and worked with producers and partners across the U.S. and internationally.

He returned to K-State in 2020 as associate dean of academic programs, leading efforts in recruitment, student success, curriculum, and expanded access to agricultural education across Kansas.

Appointed interim dean in 2025, he was named the Eldon Gideon Dean of the College of Agriculture in 2026 following a national search. He now leads the college and the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station, advancing teaching, research, and engagement for Kansas and beyond.
