• How do I schedule an appointment with my advisor?
  You can easily schedule an appointment with your advisor with our online scheduling application, Navigate.
• How do I prepare for my advising appointment?
  Before your appointment with your advisor, you should:
  

  1. Check your current DARS report in KSIS to determine unfulfilled curriculum requirements and writing a list of questions you have for your advisor.
  2. Find your unique enrollment date located in your KSIS Student Center in the right column and mark your calendar accordingly.
  3. Draft a list of classes you are interested in taking before your advising appointment. Look for what classes are being offered through the Course Schedules website. We recommend you have a few alternates in mind in case your first choice is not available.
  4. Check out the Undergraduate Catalog to familiarize yourself with requirements for your major, find course descriptions, and to find course prerequisites. The Undergraduate Catalog also describes K-State policies, procedures and regulations.
• What does an advisor do?
  An academic advisor helps students make informed decisions about their courses, majors and career paths while offering support and guidance to keep them on track toward graduation. Read more about our role in the Academic Advising Syllabus.
• How do I find out who my Faculty Mentor is, and how do I connect with them?
  Your faculty mentor will be listed as part of your success team in Navigate. They will offer guidance and support with internship and career opportunities, industry connections, undergraduate research, departmental clubs, competition teams and more!
