Agricultural and Natural Resources Communications

Students in Agricultural and Natural Resources Communications (ANRC) study agricultural sciences, environmental topics and mass communication. Courses are designed to enhance the student's ability to communicate about natural and applied sciences which opens doors for students when applying for internships, jobs and professional schools.

Specialized Curriculum

The ANRC curriculum allows you to combine your interests in agriculture, natural resources and communications. Our program allows students to learn a diverse set of communication skills including graphic design, photography, videography, writing and more.

Involvement

The Agriculturist MagazineK-State’s Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) chapter ranks among the best in the country. Involvement gives students opportunities to build career skills and network with industry leaders at the Agricultural Media Summit, and a chance to grow leadership skills as a chapter or national officer.

Hands On Experience

The ANRC program equips students for the real world. All courses are designed to provide hands-on experiences with opportunities to develop portfolio pieces. Courses such as video production, layout and design, crisis communications, and capstone involve hands-on experience in producing content for clients. Students produce a magazine, The Agriculturist, a podcast, Every Corner of Kansas Ag, and videos promoting the College of Agriculture.
