Animal Sciences and Industry

K-State's Animal Sciences and Industry offers two academic plans: Pre-Vet & Science and Management & Industry. These plans serve as the foundation for a degree, allowing students to select their coursework based on their interests and career goals. Our curriculum offers students the flexibility to intergrate concentrations, certificates and minors within their academic plan.

Students may expand their concentration by focusing on specific species, including beef cattle, companion animals, dairy cattle, equine, meat science, poultry, swine and sheep & meat goat.

Our major has a long history of commitment to experiential learning and recognizes the importance of student learning outside the classroom. Each student is required to enroll in at least one course designated as an applied learning experience.

Involvement

ASI competition teams are nationally recognized and continuously bring home championship titles. Teams include livestock, meat, meat animal evaluation, wool, horse, dairy and poultry. Students are selected from classes designed to develop skills needed for competition and future careers.
