Entomology

Entomologists focus on disease transmission from insects and other anthropods in plants, animals and humans; production and protection of food, feed and fiber; understanding and protecting insect biodiversity; and emerging fields like biosecurity and digital agriculture.

Specialized Curriculum

There are many areas of focus, but this program provides flexibility for students with an interest in studying arthropods to discover and specialize in what they're passionate about. Students can choose to major in a General Entomology curriculum or Pre-Veterinary curriculum and may choose specific areas of focus.

Involvement

Students can get involved with our award-winning Popenoe Entomology Club, which is one of the oldest clubs on campus. Students interact with peers from across campus who have an interest in insects.
