Inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders
As an ag educator, you play a vital role in shaping future Wildcats. The K-State College of Agriculture is here to support your efforts in helping students explore the opportunities that await them as AgCats — from hands-on learning to a nearly 100% job placement rate after graduation.
Why K-State?
A tradition of excellence.
For more than 160 years, the K-State College of Agriculture has been shaping leaders and advancing the field of agriculture. As the nation’s first operational land-grant institution, K-State was built on the belief that education, research and service should strengthen communities and improve lives. That legacy continues today in every classroom, lab and field across campus.
Students in the College of Agriculture are part of something bigger than a degree program; they’re joining a tradition of integrity, innovation and leadership that’s recognized across the country. Our programs are consistently ranked among the best in the nation, and our graduates are sought after by top employers and graduate schools alike.
Through cutting-edge research, industry partnerships and a strong sense of community, the K-State College of Agriculture continues to lead the way in food, fiber and natural resource systems. Here, students learn not only how agriculture works — but why it matters.
For your students, that means stepping into a learning environment that values curiosity, collaboration and purpose, one that equips them to make a real difference from day one.
Real experience, real success
In the College of Agriculture, students learn by doing. From day one, they’re immersed in hands-on experiences that connect classroom concepts to real-world challenges. Whether it’s conducting undergraduate research, completing internships with leading companies, managing on-campus farms or participating in competitive teams, AgCats gain the kind of practical knowledge that sets them apart in the workforce.
Each semester, more than 500 students work in part-time, on-campus positions that build skills, confidence and professional networks. Many participate in industry tours, professional conferences and global experiences that broaden their perspective and prepare them to lead in a changing world.
That commitment to experiential learning pays off with nearly 100% job placement within months of graduation and alumni who excel in careers across agriculture, food, science, education, policy and sustainability. Employers know that K-State AgCat graduates are ready to solve problems, lead teams and move agriculture forward.
When you encourage your students to explore K-State, you’re giving them access to an education that blends knowledge with experience and opens doors to success.
The AgCat family
At K-State, students aren’t just earning a degree; they’re joining a family that spans generations. The AgCat family is built on shared experiences, strong relationships and a passion for agriculture that unites students, faculty, alumni and industry partners across the world.
From the first day on campus, students are surrounded by people who care about their success. Professors know them by name. Advisors help them chart a path that fits their goals. Ag Ambassadors welcome them into a community where everyone is rooting for each other in and out of the classroom.
That sense of connection doesn’t end at graduation. K-State College of Agriculture graduates enter a robust alumni network that’s ready to open doors, offer mentorship and help them take the next step in their careers. Whether they’re managing a ranch, leading an ag business, teaching in a classroom or shaping policy, AgCats stay connected through friendships and professional ties that last a lifetime.
Being an AgCat means being part of something bigger —a tradition of leadership, service and purple pride that continues to grow with every generation.
